New Work

Each year I continue my ritual of burying paper under winter snows.  The result is a print documentation of that particular winter - the amount of moisture, etc.  The Winter Pressing
2011-12 recorded 55" of snowfall in the forest adjacent to my studio.

This Pressing then took the form of an artists' book enclosed in a box.
The binding is simply 2 leather threads running through single sheet pages.  The information about this Pressing is recorded on the first few pages (paper laid December 1 2011 and harvested March 20, 2012) and then a quote from John Muir is placed on the remaining pages..."I went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown for going out I found, was really going in. "
