Workshop Book Art

The Victoria Rabinowe Dream workshop recently took place
at the Durango Arts Center.
This is a page from my book that details visually
a dream about the sea, a house, and my fear.

INTERPRETING MEMORY: AN EXPLORATION OF FAMILY AND CULTURE THROUGH ARTISTS’ BOOKS

In this workshop students will investigate their own perception of family and culture as they generate concepts for an artist’s book through readings, group exercises and viewing historical and contemporary book works.

Each participant will create their own artist’s book through a guided exploration that incorporates book design, narrative and techniques for reproducing word and image.

We will be working with a modified version of the Secret Belgian Binding, which lends itself well to the integration of small objects and sewing single pages of varying size together.

This workshop is for anyone interested in creating an artist’s book, whether in digital form or executed entirely by hand.
