Each year the Open Shutter Gallery of Durango, Colorado invites community photographers/artists to submit work to this exhibit. This year I matted 3 photographs of my sitework "Concentric Circle" taken over a period of about 10 years. The first photo shows the piece made of pine needles in the forest topped with a handmade paper tendril. The second shows the piece covered with snow. The third documents the fall of a ponderosa pine tree exactly in the middle of the circles of needles. I will be posting a follow-up photograph this summer as there has been another amazing change recently that continues this story of process and transition.

Valentines installation

"Will you be sending me a valentine, birthday greetings, bottle of wine?"

I pulled my Valentine series from the 70's out of my files recently and they are displayed in the Valentine Show at the Durango Arts Center, February 2-8. Reception is Thursday, February 2, 5-7 p.m. The poster-style cards were originally silk-screened and most use words from the Beatles songbook. They have been color copied for this occasion.
