NEW INSTALLATION

"Through the Forest" an installation using nature-altered oriental spirit papers is part of the Members Exhibit at the Durango Arts Center for the month. The papers were laid along a forest trail held by a stone throughout the winter.  In the spring, the harvest revealed the change that this collaboration with nature and time created

WINTER PRESSING 2013-14

Another year I have buried paper under winter snow and harvested it in the spring.  This winter was very mild, only 27 inches at my location north of Durango at 7000+ feet.  The paper was used in a book about the rivers of the world.  This book is a companion for the wall installation "Roots into Rivers" recently exhibited in California and Durango.  The construction is my own invention.  The maps of various rivers are drawn on the nature-altered paper and vellum is overlaid with the ink-jetprinted name of the river.
