Furniture as Art Auction

Each year in my home town of Durango, Colorado, the Furniture as Art Auction helps support the Fort Lewis College's public radio station KDUR. March 22 is the date this year. The location is the Durango Arts Center with doors open at 5:30 p.m. I have now participated for 6 years, each project taking me into alternative mediums and challenging my creativity. This year, my contribution began with a window frame with 6 empty panes. The panes are filled with stitched fragments of paper straight from my collage box. As a collagist for many years, my boxes are filled with unique papers. Drawings and color added to the empty backs of the papers complete the project. For the week preceding the event, Memory Window is being displayed in the front window of "There is No Place Like Home", a wonderful store on Main Avenue in downtown Durango.
