Each year the Open Shutter Gallery of Durango, Colorado invites community photographers/artists to submit work to this exhibit. This year I matted 3 photographs of my sitework "Concentric Circle" taken over a period of about 10 years. The first photo shows the piece made of pine needles in the forest topped with a handmade paper tendril. The second shows the piece covered with snow. The third documents the fall of a ponderosa pine tree exactly in the middle of the circles of needles. I will be posting a follow-up photograph this summer as there has been another amazing change recently that continues this story of process and transition.
Wow that third photo just blows my mind! Amazing that the tree fell in that spot. I love all three photos and will look forward to the next!
