RECENT ARTISTS' BOOK PLACEMENTS
This fall a number of my one-of-a-kind artists' books have found a permanent home in the Special Collections Library of Baylor University in Texas. They were sold through Abecedarian Gallery's recent exhibit "Pulp Mastery", in which my work and the work of Melissa Jay Craigs was featured.

NEW INSTALLATION
"Through the Forest" an installation using nature-altered oriental spirit papers is part of the Members Exhibit at the Durango Arts Center for the month. The papers were laid along a forest trail held by a stone throughout the winter. In the spring, the harvest revealed the change that this collaboration with nature and time created

Exhibit inclusion
My "A Walk in the Woods" sculptural artists' book has been included in the exhibit "In and Out of Sculptural Books at The Ink Shop Printmaking Center, Ithaca, NY. this month. Curated by Kumi Korf (selections from workshops she has taught across the U.S) , my piece was created in the workshop she taught a few years ago at the Durango Arts Center, on the occasion of her exhibit of prints in the Art Library.

Free Educational Series ART WALK
at Edgemont Highlands, Durango, Colorado
Saturday, Sept. 6th - 9 a.m.
Sunday, Sept. 7th - 2 p.m.
Join Allison Andersen for an educational walk to view and learn about the
environmental art along the trails. Meet at the Community Lodge 10 minutes prior to the start, wear comfortable shoes and bring drinking water. Walks will last about 2 hours each, and will be a different route each day. The Lodge is at 40 Red Canyon Trail.

NEW SHOW IN DURANGO
Announcing "GATHERED SPACES", an exhibit by artist Leslie Scheiblberg Madigan at the Art Library at the Durango Arts Center. Opening reception is Friday, July 11, 5 to 7 pm. and the show runs through July and August. The show includes "Journey Jars" containing book constructions of site specific materials and much more.
Leslie lives in the Hudson River Valley, just north of Manhattan. The Arts Center welcomes her back as the first director of the Durango Arts Center in the 80's.
